Support for RECEIVE_MMS has been removed from the GooglePlay version of the app due to GooglePlay policy changes.

- Courtesy note to SW & SW2 Users: eNotify will have to discontinue support for these watches eventually. I’d like to keep them around personally, but the problem is that Sony have not updated the development kit for years now so it doesn’t run when combined with the latest versions of the android development kit. To keep adding current features to eNotify, I need to continually upgrade it to the most recent versions of the Android software kit. However, I may be able to create a separate version eNotify for SW & SW2 if there is enough demand, but it will not be updated with the rest of the app.
- Fixed: The Sony provided SW & SW 2 SDK no longer works on the Android 5 software kit [Re-wrote part of their SDK]

- Why? I’m upgrading the app to work better with Android 6 (Marshmallow), but the components that we use to enable older devices no longer work there.

-
Fixed: eNotify changes downtime from ‘None’ to ‘Priority’ after overriding silent [Google defect in Set Ringer Mode]
-
Tip: For downtime features, you must check/enable eNotify under -> Sounds and Notifications -> Notification Access -> eNotify
-
What is ‘downtime’?!? It is the capability built into your unmodified Android 5+ device that enables disabling of notifications. It supports:
- All: Allow all alerts
- Priority: Allow alerts only from apps that you have designated as priority
- None: Allow no alerts
-
It is supported in Android 5 devices and newer (Lollipop) though some manufacturers like Samsung for example have removed downtime functionality in lieu of a simpler silent profile. Each manufacturer has their own way of muting notifications, so you will need to decide if these options make sense for your individual devices.
-

What is doze?
- It is a power saving feature of Android 6 that puts a device to sleep afer ~ 1 hour of being left idle {Screen is off, The device has not moved}
- Doze cannot be disabled and restricts all apps from using the network
- Tip: When left idle, plug-in the charger to avoid the device dozing
- Please, I’d like to get some feedback from Marshmallow (Android 6) users: Android Support Thanks, Glen

-
Changed: Added a dialog asking users with the Android Wear app installed if they intend to use an Androd Wear accessory with eNotify
- Due to defects in the Wear development kit, turning on Android Wear can lead to incorrect vibration patterns on the phone
- Setting Android Wear to ON limits the amount of notification configuration that can be done on the phone since stacked card notifications on the smartwatch only work in conjunction with a single summary notification on the phone
-
New Advanced Feature: Ability to determine whether non-notification audio streams should follow the silent profile [These audio channel settings are for edge case users: If changed they may result in unwanted alert sounds and/or prevent override silent from working]
-
Fixed Defect: Volume dialog always uses the max volume from the notification stream instead of the currently configured stream
- Changed: Added progress dialog for acquiring login token for GMail password-less authentication
- Changed: Added network check before attempting GMail password-less authentication
- Fixed: The import button on the ‘Transfer Settings & Data’ feature is cut-off on devices with small screens

Enhanced GMail support
-
New Feature: Connect to GMail accounts without using a password [‘OAuth 2’ support]
-
New Feature: Create eNotify GMail accounts from the pre-existing GMail accounts on the device
-
New Feature: Added a Web page and video to explain the 3 types of security settings for GMail accounts:
- User-name with no Password [using OAuth2]
- 2 Step Authentication with App Specific Password
- User-name & Password with ‘Allow Less Secure Apps’ turned ON
-
Note: Your existing GMail accounts will not be changed. They continue to login with the encrypted password over an encrypted socket connection. Changes only pertain to the creation of new accounts. Users wanting to switch to password-less authentication for their existing GMail accounts, should edit the account and change the setting: “Use Password” to OFF followed by pressing “Check Connection” to verify that eNotify can access the account. Once ‘Check Connection’ has been pressed, you will be taken to a Google security page where you can grant eNotify access to your email.
-
Note: The new app permissions: {GET_ACCOUNTS, USE_CREDENTIALS} are required to facilitate the password-less login for GMail
-
Note: There are no changes for non-GMail accounts.
